That there are white nationalists is a fact. It is also legal, if repugnant. And, I suspect the modern condemnation of whites, and of males, creates more of these fools, as a reaction.

There are also a few actual fascists — Nazi’s on one side, and the ironically named Antifa on the other.

Antifa started in the 1930’s as a counter to the rise of fascism in Europe — real fascism — National Socialism to be precise. But, modern Antifa has a different purpose — revolution, and the suppression of all views not as radical as their own. They are rarely fighting actual fascists, but their definition of fascism has morphed to mean anyone on the right. The ideology is a sort of anarcho-Marxism, which is an incoherent, self-contradictory mess of far left ideas.

The author apparently doesn’t realize that throwing a milkshake on someone is a violent act — legally, it is assault. And since nobody knows what is in the milkshake — in Europe they have mixed in cement, it is also a terroristic threat when done in a political context.

But Antifa goes well beyond milkshakes. They badly injured a reporter, putting him in the hospital with a brain bleed. They have done the same to others. They routinely vandalize stores and commit arson. They publish a manual on how to fight “fascists,” which includes wearing masks and carrying a change of clothes so they can flee the police after they commit their violence. They even attack strangers whose politics they don’t know, as they did in Portland this year.

The author seems to actually believe that Antifa is anti-fascist. In fact, it is anti-right, and its willingness to use violence shows that it is using fascist tactics. As a group that uses violence for political purposes, it precisely fits the definition of a terrorist organization.

If there are right wing organizations that use the same tactics, they too fit the definition.

But don’t be fooled, Antifa are bad for democracy (which they loathe), bad for our society, and very dangerous.
