Sorry, but what you say goes for both sides. Polarization does that. And when it comes to science - which is nuttier? Suspicion of a new vaccine, or a doctrinal belief that mean can be women, and that we now have to refer to "birthing people" in denial of basic biology?

And the lack of cognitive ability is just click bait. What you really mean is polarization, which leads people to Manichaen thinking.

As a Trump voter twice, a person who was vaccinated as soon as possible, an engineer and software architect, published author, and a member of a group of similar high cognitive skikll people, all of whom voted for Trump, I'd say that your cognitive ability is damaged by a failure to recognize overgeneralization.
