It is right to ask questions about US strategy here, even recognizing that Putin is as you say. The question is: what can we do to help the brave Ukrainians, that will actually work, but that won't start a major war? I thought we pretty well had it in the bag, even though Biden slow-walked aid that should have gone in sooner. But the arrival of the war on infrastructure has changed the situation, especially with the Iranian drones and the soon to be used Iranian SRBM's. Ukraine may not be able to continue fighting if they cannot counter these, and I don't see a road to that path - at least for the SRBM's.

While you may be willing for a nuclear holocaust, most of us are not.

As for Trump... you are sadly misinformed. Trump is not going to be a dictator. For one thing, he's too old. For another, the US won't let him.

Don't forget - on Jan 20th, 2021, he peacefully handed over power. He didn't use nay of the tactics of autocrats or dictators. He handed it over. But had he refused, the subordinates would have force him to, if it meant bringing in the military.
