It is not true that this does not produce radiation. It does produce neutrons, maybe 1% of its energy. It also produces hard X-rays and alpha particles (the energetic helium nuclei). The neutrons are going to neutron-activate materials in the reactor, making many of them radioactive.

Articles about science should not state absolutes ("no radiation") unless it is absolutely true. The amount of radiation is a lot less than typical fusion products, because they generate a lot of neutrons.

I would be surprised if this works before neuronic fusion, given the higher temperature requirements of this one. But its might be good in the long term.
