How about the unforeseen consequences of many of the current approaches? How many who advocate for solar and wind appreciate that critical materials are mined or refined in 4th world environments, by desperately poor people, in highly toxic ways?

How many appreciate that the enormous sums spent on ultimately ineffectual solutions (solar and wind) are impacting the economic health of the world, and again, harming the very poor?

How many understand that if all the democratic countries beggar their economies to protect the environment, it won't matter when autocratic countries (Russia, China et al) continue to increasingly burn coal and oil?

Everything has unintended or unexpected consequences. The idea of geoengineering is no more dangerous that the other approaches to "solving" the "climate crisis."
