Claptrap! The Republicans killed the commission because it was to be an exercise in propaganda.
There is a huge investigation going on about Jan 6, and it is being run by the FBI and other law enforcement organizations. Let them do their job.
As far as Biden trying to tamp down the flames, there is nothing more likely to light the flames of violence than the attacks the Democrats are promising on things Republicans hold dear, and most Americans should. The main focus is to change electoral politics so Democrats always win. This is by the bill to federalize elections (i.e. takeover by a Demiocrat administration); it is by going for statehood for Washington D.C. - a reliable Democratic stronghold that, per the constitution, is to not be a state; it is by threats to pack the Supreme Court and turn it into a Democrat-filled House of Lords; it is the plan to end the filibuster; it is the plan to confiscate all "assault weaons" (a made-up political term for the most popular kinds of rifles inthe US).
:When Biden supports these measures, he is being exceedingly divisive. Few want a civil war - they tend to be terrible and those who start them rarely end up in a better plavce anyway. But push hard enough, and violence will be the result. And that is desired by the radical Democrats - any political violence and they will use it as a pretect to clamp down even more on the rights of individuals.
Even the January 6th attack on the Capitol is taken way out of proportion. It was illegal, and stormig the Capitol was wrong (and supremely stupid). But the hyperbole is insane - it was not the gravest attack on our Democracy - heck, the "attackers" were not even armed. The only fatality was one of the attackers shot by a Capitol policeman yet to be named (because the Democrats don't want that information to come out).
It did not represent a real threat, because it never had a chance of actually changing the electoral count, or of taking over. A small unarmed mob - a few hundred who actually entered the Capitol grounds - had no chance against the might of the US, or even against the Capitol Police, had the latter chosen to fight.
And, the National Guard was offered days before - 4000 troops - by, yes, Donald Trump, but the offer was not taken up.
So keep on, Democrats, with insane hyperbole, and bad things will happen. So PLEASE - stop it. We don't need the violence, and we are tired of your lies.
And yes, many of us on the right are tired of the "Stop the Steal" rhetoric by our own side. Personaly, I want Trumpism without Trump.
