As someone not a hunter or farmer... I have used a "rapid fire rifle" to save my life. And that was not during my military service.
I tire of those who do not understand why people have various kinds of weapons wanting to dictate to us what we can have.

You present a plausible argument however there is no proof either way. What is completely absent is a cogent, coherent US strategy. Pulling out of the agreement without a plan was hasty and dangerous. Now all we have is a slow moving stalemate culminating in some nasty outcome.
