100% solar panels cannot solve the problem, because the cost of storing enough energy to run society when solar/wind are not producing is astronomical. The alternative, still but far less expensive, is backup conventional and nuclear plants.

The conventional emit carbon. The nuclear plants are expensive but extremely clean - but most environmentalists would rather waste trillions on "renewables" that cannot produce reliable ("dispatch able") power.

If you really care about CO2 emissions, focus on modular nuclear plants that can be built in factories and shipped in parts and installed. And focus on how to get the NIMBY's and unenlightened environmentalists to stop blocking nuclear.
